Maruti’s managed to feel the pulse of the next-generation of entry-level car makers. The highly successful Swift with its dashing looks and compact dimensions has urged Maruti to re-launch the Zen to appeal more to the younger breed. The Estilo – Spanish for style – is what Maruti wants the Zen to be known for. Packaged within the confines of the Wagon R, the new Zen is the Suzuki MR Wagon, circa 2001. But, it’s quite modern looking and will put to the shame most of the other small car rivals looks department, starting with the Wagon R itself.

Interestingly, the Zen Estilo has more in common with the Wagon R than the Zen – it comes with the same 1061 cc unit pumping out 64bhp and 84 Nm at maximum efficiency. The interiors are quite trendy, especially in the VXi version and feels spacious due to the MPV- style body with A-pillar sloping all the way to the front. Seats are comfortable but three abreast at the rear might be a squeeze. However, like the Wagon R, the floor is flat. Rear passengers seats also get headrests similar to the Swift. Boot space isn’t much to write home about but you can stuff enough luggage of a family of four. Yes, that’s what the Zen is aimed at – young families. T’s smart on the road, rides well and with most of the stuff coming from the Wagon R it is a reliable piece of machinery.

Karoshi and its sequel both consist of a series of levels in which the goal is for the player character to kill himself. The levels are essentially puzzles, each with a different goal – while some might ask you a simple Yes / No question (“Are you an idiot?”), other will see you pushing crates and collectiong coins. With progressing levels, the puzzles get more bizarre and clever and the game succeeds in being fun by not restoring to obtuse puzzles.
