Naukuchiatal: A nine-cornered lake, you can go boating orfish for mashers here. You can also paraglide from Pandegaon for an aerial view of the town.
Bhim Tal: 22km from Nainital, this lake is named after Bhima, one of the five Pandava brothers. About 7 km away is Sat Tal, which offers plenty of opportunity for adventure sports.
Mukteshwar: 50 km from Nainital, it is a charming picnic spot.
Ranikhet: A quiet and scenic town about 60 km from Nainital.
Gangothri: The temple here was constructed at the confluence of the Kedar, Ganga and Bhagirathi rivers. A 17 km trek from the temple leads to the glacier from where the Ganga originates.
Yamunothri: The Yamunothri Temple, dedicated to the Godess Yamuna, is surrounded by hot springs which make bathing convenient. It was built in the 1980s and has been rebuilt twice since.
