Every February, the Indian IT industry braves icy winds and heads for the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) summit where industry captains rubbed shoulders with foreign delegations, international press, and some VVIPS. This NASSCOM 2008 – India Leadership Forum saw three Global Leadership awards presented, with Mr. Ratan Tata picking up the Global Indian Award. Eight Indian Companies were also given innovation awards. Former President APJ Abdul Kalam, who was a guest of honor at the special session said India needs a transformation from a software powerhouse. “Unless you transform yourself, your growth will be linear,” he said.
